He Increases Strength
“He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.”
Are you tired? Are you weary? God sees. God knows.
Consider today that Isaiah is not just saying that God can restore those who need help, but that he does. God is aware of your needs today. His eyes are not turned away from those who are suffering and broken. He looks for those whom he can empower with his grace.
We may think that we have to prove to God that we are worthy of his help, but the truth is that his nature drives him to uphold those who are wandering. Part of abiding daily is discovering that he is just as present in our trial as he is in our blessing.
I want to invite you to receive this promise wherever you are feeling doubt about God’s goodness. In our weakness, the enemy comes as strong as ever with his lies of condemnation. When we are out of energy, he throws his most outlandish claims against the nature of our God. So it is important to get this revelation truth rooted deeply in our souls.
Meditate on the truth of God’s generous grace this morning. Psalm 68:35 ESV says, “Awesome is God from his sanctuary; the God of Israel—he is the one who gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!” Finally, Psalm 46:1 ESV says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Allow these verses and others that God may bring to mind to guide you into a time of prayer and reflection. Let the Holy Spirit speak to you about the misconceptions and false ideas you have about his goodness. The Father will faithfully disciple you in the truth of his word. He will gently and wisely prune you to be more aligned with his ways.
Open your heart today, and if you need renewal, ask God to help you receive his strength.
