We Can Trust The Lord
Every day we have a choice of where to place our trust. We can put our trust in God, or we can put our faith in ourselves. Jeremiah 17:7 NIV says, “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” The message remains true today: it is blessed to trust the Lord.
Trusting God is an essential foundation to living a life of freedom. It takes tremendous practice because we are called to trust in a God that is Spirit. We cannot see or touch him, but we can sense his presence, hear his voice, and experience his heart.
As abstract as it may seem, the invitation to trust in the Lord is built on the reality that God does not leave us powerless or clueless. He equips us to follow him.
In seeking his word, we find insights into what pleases the Lord and what is contrary to God’s law. We discover the path to salvation, holiness, freedom, and eternal life.
Additionally, the Father has sent the promised Holy Spirit. Jesus assured us that when the Spirit comes, He will make all things known to us. He says in John 14:26, “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
The truth is that we are more prepared to trust in the Lord than we may realize. God is working all around us. If we pause to listen, we can learn to hear his voice and discern his will.
There is much to be said about the various ways God reveals himself. Today I want us to see that every time we come to the word with an open heart, we have a divine invitation to uncover revelation truth. The Daily Invitation is built on the belief that every single day we can open the Bible and have access to God. When we read the word, we can open our hearts up to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. We learn to abide in His words.
My challenge for you today is to go beyond this devotional. Realize that the Holy Spirit is willing and able to speak to you in a personal way. He wants to encounter you as you seek him. Ask the Lord where to start today and take the risk to encounter him. (If you need help knowing where to start, reply to the devo text or sign up and ask us to help!)
