Treated Unfairly

The Lord gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly.
— Psalms 103:6 NIV

Have you been wronged? Looked over? Misjudged? Betrayed? Abused?

God knows.

He gives righteousness and justice to you today. Do you realize that is a promise? God never fails on his promises.

When we are wronged or hurt, our first response is often to feel all kinds of negative emotions, often directed at someone or something that has disrupted our lives. How do we respond to God in seasons of hurt?

God is a big God. He can handle our human emotions. He is not offended by our anger or grief in the face of difficulty. Remember, God is a strong tower that the righteous can run into and be safe.

In times of need, we might be tempted to doubt God. We might look at our situation and blame God or question God for not coming through when we needed him. I think God gives us these promises through his word so that in broken situations we can hold fast to the truth of his character and pray according to what he has promised.

Next time you feel mistreated, you might go back to Psalms 103:6 and begin to pray, “Lord I am stuck in this situation, but you promised to bring righteousness and justice to those that are treated unfairly. Come to my help, and bring me into the light.”
