Psalms 40:16 | The Lord Is Great!

Psalms 40:16 NIV says, “But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, ‘The Lord is great!’”

Whenever the scripture gets this practical, I like to take notice. We have been talking extensively about how to rely on God and make him the source of your help. Psalm 40 is an excellent passage depicting this place in our faith. The writer talks about waiting on the Lord for help and putting his trust in God.

Near the end, we find this verse about praising God continually. It is so practical that I want to encourage you to try it out.

So much of our faith and pursuit of abiding can be very introspective or about taking risks and trusting. This scripture gives us a tool for building faith.

I want to challenge you to start claiming this promise throughout your day. Just say, “The Lord is great!” In the good times and in the bad times, train yourself to live according to this promise.

I don’t know about you, but I am curious to see how this unfolds in my day. Drop a comment to let others know how this simple exercise helped you in your faith today.
