Living Connected To God

I’m on the road today, so today’s devotional will be short. I still wanted to bring a verse and a brief thought that we could all pray through.

Is God first in your life? It is a common question we ask in church.

I’m wondering today how we got to a place of ordering our relationship with God like this? There is value in prioritizing relationships over others. My wife has greater access to me than my next-door neighbor. However, I want us to consider that putting God first sometimes means putting him on a list.

It is not as if I have to deal with my relationship with God and then turn and engage in my marriage and then turn and engage in work. We don’t leave God behind in the prayer closet. God is spirit, so he is always with me. When Jesus says, John 15:4 (NIV)“Remain in me, as I also remain in you,” he means always—not just in church.

Galatians 5:25 (NIV) says, “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” Consider what it means today to live every moment with God involved.

Amen.
