Trust In The Lord Forever

Isaiah 26:4 (NIV) says, “Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.” It is good to trust in the Lord.

Nearly every morning (now evening), as I come to the Lord in preparation for this devotional, I ask God for a word, and my heart says, “write on trust.” Of course, I can’t write Proverbs 3:5 every morning, but there is something to be said about the foundational nature of trust in our relationship with God.

If we can’t trust him, he is not God at all. The very fact that he is faithful and unchanging makes him the God of the universe. What he says is. What he wills happens. What he promises, he fulfills.

That is why Isaiah says so confidently that we can trust in the Rock eternal. We aren’t talking about some minor boulder. God is the Rock, as in the bare face of a great mountain, and then some.

When it comes to dependency on God, our journey is one of complete joy! I know that at times it is hard to trust when we reach the threshold of our faith and have to grow into greater trust, but God never fails us. Even when we do not understand it, God never fails to be faithful, loving, and good.

So we come to the Lord today with gratitude of a renewed nature. Our worship has to go up a notch. Instead of merely saying, “I trust you, God.” We add to it.

“I trust you, God… forever.”
