Watch Over

Psalms 121:8 NIV says, “the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” Psalm 121 is a beautiful chapter we will revisit over and over in the Daily Invitation. It is such a special chapter for those who need encouragement. I am thankful for promises like these that remind me how simple and real God’s love is for me.

A Father’s Love

Listen, I do not know what you are going through today, but I know what God has promised. He is faithful to his word, so I know that he is watching over your every move today.

So many times, we miss out on this revelation of God’s help because we forget to lean on him. He is our Father, but we often believe the lie that he is too busy for us.

Can I tell you something? There is nothing more important to your heavenly dad than making sure you are okay. Sometimes when we talk about God caring for us, we make it seem like he is incredibly busy, but even among all those other priorities, he takes time to be with us.

I do not believe that is the truth at all.

Mindset Shift

I think scripture makes it clear that God’s main priority is taking care of his children, and that is the primary objective of his kingdom. He sends his angels throughout the earth to be his messengers and ministers. All of heaven is centered on one thing: watching over God’s kids.

That is pretty amazing.

What would shift if you realized you were not an afterthought but the focus of God’s attention? What would change if you stopped seeing yourself as an extra task and saw yourself as the apple of God’s eye?

He loves you. Will you receive that love today?
