Time To Rejoice

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
— Romans 5:1-2 ESV

Most of you reading this have been on the abiding daily journey for some time. First of all, thank you for joining us on this journey. There is something powerful about the unified pursuit we have to know Jesus more. If you’ve been here for a while, you will have no doubt come face-to-face with the central concepts of our ministry. Prayer, seeing God rightly, worshiping and honoring him, surrendering, and learning to see ourselves the way God sees us are just some of the things we focus on.

Today I came to this verse in Romans, and it struck me that it is time to rejoice. We do not always feel peace and hope. Today has admittedly been a rough one from the start. Despite the challenges I may be facing, the truth of God’s peace and hope is inescapable.

You and I have an invitation today to freely contemplate the power of the gospel. Remember that you have been justified by faith. Remember that while formerly you were in darkness, now you are living in peace with God. Consider that God has given you the grace to stand in freedom. He has given you reason to rejoice.

How will you respond to this hope?

We have two choices. We can bring back our list of reasons that justify our hopelessness, or we can surrender our fears and receive hope. It does not mean that the issues or challenges of our lives magically disappear. It means we will have the right perspective on who we are in Christ.

Today, abiding means allowing to Holy Spirit to help you turn all fear into peace and all worry into hope. This is exactly what God does. This was his purpose on the cross. He did it because he loves to see his people living in freedom.
