Intentional

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
— Jeremiah 29:13 ESV

Something I’ve noticed about the Lord is that he often lives in unprompted and unexpected ways. Even when we can’t see it clearly, God has done things on our behalf that we could not have even known to ask for. He’s just that God.

God often takes this initiative in our lives because he has a greater purpose or calling on our lives than we can see. Sometimes he moves just because he loves us so much. Since we are in a relationship with the Lord, it means that the overall health of our relationship will be determined by things like our intentionality.

God is his own person, but so are you.

I’ve been challenged lately to consider how much I am putting into my relationship with the Lord. Have I been intentional to open up to him and seek him in prayer and in the word? Have I diligently sought ways to serve and love my neighbor?

It can be easy to get caught up just waiting for God to move in our lives and forget to take action and most importantly pray.

What is holding you back from seeking the Lord at a deeper level? For some, it could be as simple as laziness, apathy, or distraction.

I want to encourage you that nothing replaced the immense value of seeking the Lord. I want to remind you that all throughout scripture we see stories of God responding to people who see him. Remember that while he supernaturally intervened in the lives of many, he was close to those who would seek him.
