Better Than Life
The Kingdom of God can be summarized in one verse from Matthew 13:44 ESV, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.”
How simple and joyful is that?!
Today we are invited to ponder the worth of God’s kingdom. Have you ever experienced that rush that comes from recognizing how precious God’s love and presence are to you? I hope that you experience that soon.
There is not much to add to this parable. Upon discovering God’s kingdom, we realize that everything else we possess is unneeded. He is worth losing everything for.
David got it when he wrote Psalm 63. He understood the value of God’s steadfast love, which is the foundation of his kingdom. Psalm 63:3 ESV says, “Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.”
Can you see this today? Again, I do not have much to say, but I’m presenting a signpost that hopefully leads you to consider the steadfast love of the Lord. I pray that God finds you in this devotional today.
