The Invitation to Seek
Ironically, our attempts to devote ourselves to God in our own strength could be the very thing that blocks us from intimacy with God. Remember that Psalm 27 shows us that the beginning of deepening our relationship with God is responding to his invitation.
Better Than Life
The Kingdom of God can be summarized in one verse from Matthew 13:44 ESV, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.”
Seeking The Kingdom
The first thing to learn from this message is that even the simplest things like food and clothing can distract us from the kingdom. It’s not that Jesus wants us to go hungry or unclothed, but that he knows how easily these things can distract us from his heart.
Fearless Heart
When we read the scriptures, it is like a window into God’s heart. We get to look at him and his nature and his promises. We may not understand everything we perceive, but we are still beholding the Lord. Those tiny seeds of faith grow into revelations at the proper time.
