Romans‬ ‭8:28 | Surrender the Outcome

Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭ESV‬‬ says, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

It is easy to see Gods faithfulness when we look back on our lives. At that point, the mystery has already unfolded. The outcome has already been determined. Yet in the moment, an unanswered question can feel like an impossible trial to overcome.

Sometimes this can be as simple as wondering why we don’t feel connected to God on a certain day. It might be the challenge of overcoming or guilt and shame for the ways we have missed the mark. It could be that we have very real challenges that we have no solution for.

No matter what, this verse has a place for us today.

When I read this verse, I remember that it is God who works all things together, not me. What is my responsibility? Loving God.

Today I want to encourage you to let go of the outcomes you are trying to control and spend your energy on loving God. Thank him. Delay the requests for a moment and give God praise. Trust him with the outcome because he is faithful.
