PSALM 93:5 | HOLY FOREVER

Psalm 93:5 ESV says, “Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, O Lord, forevermore.”

Pause where you are today and recognize that the holiness of God is not for a moment. It endures for eternity.

Have you ever encountered the presence and glory of God? Maybe this was recently, or maybe it is a distant memory. Even though I believe we have access to regular encounters with the living God, I recognize that there are supremely divine and holy moments in our journey.

I can think of a few moments like this in my life when the veil of heaven became paper-thin. Amazingly, these sacred moments won’t compare to the glory of standing in the throne room of heaven.

Now consider that every moment we encounter God is just a glimpse of the Lord’s never-ending glory and holiness.

Perhaps this recognition would reframe the way we come into worship and prayer. Maybe it would shift our perspective heavenward to see that God is far greater than we can know.

Part of abiding in Christ is living in his glorious presence. It is having a foot in heaven's door and a hand reaching out to the world around us. We only get this when we desire to be close to him, witness his glory, and obediently respond to God’s commands to love.

Yet aside from the practical outcomes of experiencing God, we can remember that God is worthy of worship, period. So I want to invite you to listen to this worship song recently released by Chris Tomlin. It might not be your favorite style, but the words are an incredible reminder of the greatness of our God.
