GALATIANS 6:9-10 | DOING GoOD

Can anyone reading today relate to the tendency to overcomplicate our faith? I have seen a pattern in my life of becoming too introspective, cautious, dramatic, and tangled—especially in hard times.

Have you ever sat down with a journal and a Bible and thought, “what do I even do now?”

Sometimes the weight of our circumstances, the sin that traps us, the offenses we bear, or the things that have been done to us can lock us up, and we feel like we can’t do anything about it.

Then I am reminded of this verse from Galatians 6:9-10 NIV, which says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

I love the simplicity of this verse. It isn’t heady or intricate. It just says to do good when it's time to do good.

Doing the right thing is hard, but it isn’t complicated.

God says to his people in Micah 6:8 ESV, “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” God has shown us what is right. Romans 2:15 reminds us that the law of God is written on our hearts.

So the challenge today is simple. Stop overcomplicating things and do good.

God will show you how to do good as you ask him. Will you spend a few moments in prayer offering your heart to God to be used for good?

Amen.
