Every day we will begin with the scriptures and move toward encounter. I’m inviting you to start pressing in after an encounter with God. Not so that you can have a good feeling or a sensational experience, but so that you may know God’s incomprehensible love and be filled with his power.

Will you lean into this joy-filled journey today? Choose to abide in the vine today and welcome the gardener's pruning. There is nothing to lose in this journey of surrender that does not lead to greater gain.

This simple shift makes all the difference. No matter what we do, we have the choice to either try and plant ourselves or stay in the vine. Planting ourselves means that we are doing works to try and show God we are good Christians. Remaining in the vine means showing up to be with God because we need him.

Abiding means a lot of things to a lot of people. To put it simply, abiding is just being closely connected to God. Because God is not a stagnant being but rather full of life and love and complexity, the life of abiding is dynamic and exciting. But it requires surrender.
