God Leads Us

Could it be that we have an incomplete view of how God thinks about us? Psalm 32:8 ESV says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” It is possible that there are lies getting in the way of seeing God for who he is.

Yesterday we talked about casting our worries on Jesus. Those anxieties, concerns, and burdens easily get in the way of seeing God as a God who cares for us. We start believing the lies that our insufficiencies disqualify us from God’s grace when they are really the doorway to God’s grace.

When we read a verse like Psalm 32:8, it can be easy to glance over it without much thought. It is a simple message about a good God, but have we stopped to consider if this verse also applies to us?

Does God really care for me? Does he instruct me with his eye on me? That implies a level of intentionality and love that may be hard to grasp.

In the simplest of responses, we are invited to consider the meaning of this verse. How does this new knowledge reshape our understanding of God’s relationship with us? When we need guidance (which is quite often), do we see God as our leader?

As we meditate on this verse today, we can ask God to help us receive it. Ask him to open your spiritual eyes and open your heart to the truth of this message. I am praying that you see him counseling you with his eye upon you today.
