Be Blessed

Luke‬ ‭10:23-24‬ ‭ESV‬‬ says, “Then turning to the disciples he [Jesus] said privately, ‘Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.’”

It is good for us to remember how special it is that we get to read the word and pray to the Lord. God is so gracious to us in opening the way for us to see Jesus today. We have the gift of the scriptures, rich tradition, and most of all the presence if the Holy Spirit to help and guide us. What a blessing! Still, this favor can be easy to overlook. We may run the risk of becoming complacent or unaware of how precious or invitation is to seek the Lord.

Think for a moment about all the prophets throughout history that longed to see the one they prophesied of in their time. We should not take our invitation lightly. Although we do not see Jesus in person today, our eyes have been opened to the truth of who he is.

Jesus reminds us that for this reason, we are counted as blessed.

I want to encourage us all to take advantage of this grace today. What is God revealing to you about himself? How has he been speaking to you through the scriptures or in prayer? Where do you see the Lord in the world today?

Through the Holy Spirit, our eyes are opened to the truth. ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭ESV says, ‬‬“But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.” I am asking God to lift the veil over our eyes so we can see the truth and step into freedom.

We have such a blessed privilege to seek God today, so wherever you are, remember to seek him intentionally. Don't let this devotional fill that space alone. Seek him personally and intently. Go beyond checking a box for your daily routine. Go after his heart.

Be blessed today.
