Proverbs 16:3 | Life With God
Proverbs 16:3 NIV says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
The life of abiding opens the door for an exciting life of faith. The invitation that God gives us to walk with him is astounding. God makes it clear through this verse in Proverbs 16:3 that he intends to lead us and establish our paths. All we have to do is commit our ways to him. Other verses echo this reality. I think of Psalms 37:4, Matthew 6:33, and Romans 8:28, to name a few.
At first, jumping headlong into a journey of faith with God feels like you are falling off the side of a cliff! How do you think Peter felt when he stepped out of the boat onto the stormy waters? I can assure you that the wonder of finding a steady place for his foot was more exhilarating than the fear of leaving the boat.
Think about the outcome of such a life of faith! Trusting in God can transform from timid trust to joyful discovery.
Where we were initially unsure what God would do, we are excited to receive what he has for us. Life becomes like unwrapping a present daily called his plans and purposes for your life!
I’m not saying it comes without a cost. This life requires us to surrender what we think we need to receive what God knows we need. His ways for us are always better than we could imagine.
The question today is, do you believe this verse to be true? Do you want to find out?
