Romans 8:31 | God Is For Us
When you think about the Lord, can you confidently say that you believe he is for you? I wonder if there are any areas in your life where this truth is being confronted. Do you believe God is for you in your finances, relationships, work, or passions?

1 Samuel 17:45 | VICTORY THROUGH FAITH
David had a different perspective on the situation. His logic was that if he could fight a lion and a bear, God could also give him this victory.

Ephesians 6:10 | Strong in the Lord
I am so thankful today that God gives us the power to stand firm and live in freedom. I am so glad he does not demand that we prove our ability to fight on our own, but he invites us to rest in him while he fights our battles.

2 Corinthians 12:9 | Sufficient Grace
As we boast in our weaknesses, God’s power increases in us. Suddenly, we get to model the upside-down gospel to those around us, showing our dependency on God through amazing strength and faith.

Psalm 18:28 | Light My Lamp
You don’t have to feel it to declare it. Our relationship with God grows deeper when we can stand on his truth regardless of what we see. We can learn to proclaim the truth that God brings light into our darkness before we see the first spark of hope.

Psalms 142:3 | In A Cave
We can both acknowledge God’s promises and the reality of our situation. We can praise God for his faithfulness but be honest that we don’t see a way out. In this process, something shifts in our faith. It becomes increasingly dependent on him to come through and less dependent on us to come through.

Proverbs 16:3 | Life With God
I’m not saying it comes without a cost. This life requires us to surrender what we think we need to receive what God knows we need. His ways for us are always better than we could imagine.

Psalms 46:1 | Ever-Present
We can remember that God is not interested in punishing or neglecting us. He would never let you ride your bike over a dangerous cliff. So we can see that growth and trouble are not the same things.

Hebrews 11:33 | Lions
I think about my own life; where has God brought me through? I wonder if there are areas in my life where I think too little of God’s power. Where is my faith? If I met a hungry lion in a face-to-face showdown, do I have the faith that God could shut the mouth of the beast and save me?

James 4:6 | More Grace
Our faith gets simple when we see the favor God puts on the humble. It looks like telling God good morning every day, asking him for help, and relying on his grace. God can change the world with a church that lives like this. You might call it childlike faith.

Luke 10:18 | Victory
Finally, while remembering his power and might is important, the greatest gift is the gift of salvation. This morning we rejoice that our names are written in heaven.

Exodus 14:14 | Be Still
I wonder how God might be challenging your faith today. I don’t think God expected the Israelites to be calm about the situation. I bet their hearts were racing as they anticipated the next moments. But God called them to be still.

Psalm 121:1-2 | Look Up
Something shifts in our faith journey when we genuinely believe that the help God provides is better than the earthly resources we can supply. Joy starts overtaking our lives when we realize that the provision of an unseen God, is more sure than the provision of a job.

He Knows Every Need
We need to believe that God can supply that need—it comes through his glory. God has solutions for your everyday essentials (Matthew 6), but he is first concerned with your heart and inviting you into the life of the Spirit. This is where God gets real, and the life of faith becomes more than an idea but an everyday reality.

God is Active
As we learn to abide, seeking God in the secret place, we begin to see him more in all areas of our lives. Think about this for a moment. Obedience is mainly dependent on our ability to hear and perceive the will of God. This takes practice, intentionality, and humility.

Everything He Does
The psalmist reminds us of God’s power to encourage us when we doubt. “The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born” (Psalms 33:6 NLT). If you were worried about a situation in your life, remember that the stars of the universe exist on account of the word of the Lord. It is good for us to remember our God in this way.

Why Worry?
Would you stay up all night worrying about whether the sun will come up tomorrow? Even if you did every night, the sun would still rise at the right time every morning. Worrying won’t change that timeline in the least.
