Psalm 31:14 | My God
It is easy to get into the rhythm of Christianity and forget how personal God is to us. He gave us the Holy Spirit so we could abide in him and know him intimately. I don’t think we try to take this lightly. When we stop to think about it, we realize that God is closer than we know and that we are invited to him.
Of course, many lies and strongholds confront this truth. We can buy into patterns of sin, believe that we are unworthy, or break under the burden of fear. It is not easy to be close to God because the enemy is fiercely against this ever happening.
He has to put up such a big fight because there is genuinely nothing separating us from the Father. God has invited us into a loving relationship through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. God has put everything on the table for us to live in freedom.
So our prayers can be like Psalm 31:14 ESV, which says, “But I trust in you, O Lord; I say, ‘You are my God.’”
So simple, yet so profound.
I want to challenge you to pause tonight and consider your relationship with God. When was that last time you said, “You are my God,” and just rested in his presence?
You are invited to abide.
