John 10:27 | Follow Jesus

In John 10:27 NIV, Jesus says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

If you’ve spent time in church, you have heard the stories of Jesus calling people to follow him. The significance of the most familiar things can escape us.

So this is your reminder that Jesus has called you to follow him.

He isn’t looking for perfection or elite religion. He isn’t asking you to prove anything to him. He isn’t accepting auditions. He just wants you to follow him.

Think about how radical that invitation is!

The king of the universe has invited you to follow him. To imitate his behavior. To receive his heart. To live as he lived.

That is the call of the gospel on our lives. This is where abiding becomes even more powerful in our lives. God calls us to follow him and to live so close to him that we could say we are one.

Let that reality sink in today as you continue through your day. Perhaps you will find a rejuvenated passion for loving God and running after his heart. Maybe this is a moment to be grateful.

God has invited you. Will you follow him?
