PSALMS 25:4 | SHOW ME
This invitation opens our hearts to God’s presence and puts us in the position to encounter his purposes in every moment of our lives. As you go into the weekend, let Psalms 25:24 be your prayer.

John 13:8 | Learning to Receive
I wonder today what God has been speaking to you that you are resisting. Have you been pushing away his grace because you are holding out on a chance to earn some Christian credit? Are you afraid of what Jesus might think of your mess and your problems?

Luke 5:32 | Repentance
We recently remembered that the greatest in the kingdom of heaven are those who become humble like children. The path to this humble position is repentance. Repentance is simply this: becoming humble enough to allow the shepherd to restore you to the flock.

Matthew 18:4 | THe Humble Are Great
Consider that in this verse, humility is not the rejection of greatness; it is the path to greatness. There is no reason to believe that God does not want his people to be great, but our understanding of greatness has to be transformed from the world's standard to the kingdom's standard.

Open My Eyes
As I see it, we start our faith journey without knowing God and not knowing what to ask for. We may have experienced something about God’s love or forgiveness, but overall our desires are not aligned with the truth of God’s word. With so much yet to learn about the Christian faith, the only thing we know to ask is for God to transform our desires.

God’s Children
God can do more through humble obedience than he can through someone who has it all together. That doesn’t mean we can ignore maturity and opt for reckless reactivity in our faith. It means that our hearts need to be humble and responsive before God.

Surrender
Following Jesus means surrendering our way of doing things to live in his better way. Make no mistake, God’s way will mess with our flesh. If following God is entirely comfortable, there is a good chance it is more like a religion and less like the radical life of freedom, glory, and mission that God calls his people to.
