The Daily Invitation
Every day we have an opportunity to discover more about God and respond to his invitation to live in love and experience freedom. The Daily Invitation outlines the many ways Scripture calls us to know and follow God. By reflecting on these promises, believers are called to receive God’s give of grace, seek him earnestly, and surrender their lives.

Ready For God’s Goodness
I get the sense that this outcast was no shy character. He spent his life creatively capturing the attention of those passing by. Any timidity would only result in a hungry stomach and a cold night. I don’t think this would have been the first time he tried to interrupt a crowd passing by.

Seek To Dwell
It is one thing to set aside all distractions for a moment of prayer and connection with God. It is another thing to aim our lives toward a place of holy communion. This is the kind of seeking David shows us in Psalm 27.

I Sought The Lord
Seek him in your fears and let your life be the Psalm 34:4 testimony: “I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.”

A Question About Asking
Jesus’s message is a message of hope and promise, not a guarantee of endless jackpots. The invitation is for us to discover God’s goodness and faithfulness in the seeking. How will you live a life of asking today?

More Than Survival
We can become so preoccupied with getting our life in order that we forget we have been invited into a divine story. Jesus reminds us today that getting caught up in worry and striving stands in opposition to the way of the kingdom.

Hosea 6:3 | Knowing God
This is your invitation. Abiding has many expressions, but today it means pressing on to know God. Don’t let the enemy tempt you away from seeking God by telling you that you don’t need more of God. Don’t substitute a genuine relationship with God for religion.

Psalm 27:8 | When God Calls
When we respond to God, we often find that he is closer than we imagined. There are so many reasons why we might feel disconnected from God, weariness, sin, offense, unforgiveness, hurts and wounds, and more. No matter what our condition, God’s invitation is the same. He says, “Seek my face.” When we see God, we experience healing and restoration. We find who we are in him—chosen and beloved by God.

Romans 12:2 | Be Transformed
Instead, God uses this power to reign as a generous and gracious God. Our invitation is not the bondage of slavery. He invites us to be like him through the transformational work that comes from encountering God and being disciplined by the Spirit.

Matthew 7:7 | Seeing God’s Ways
This isn’t to say that a simple prayer request magically resolves the issue. God’s solutions are rarely as narrow and practical as ours. God is a master designer and architect. His solutions are more than handouts or vending machines and more like elaborate stories written from the ripple effects of seemingly mundane moments.
