The Daily Invitation
Every day we have an opportunity to discover more about God and respond to his invitation to live in love and experience freedom. The Daily Invitation outlines the many ways Scripture calls us to know and follow God. By reflecting on these promises, believers are called to receive God’s give of grace, seek him earnestly, and surrender their lives.

Acceptable In God’s Sight
If we don’t see God as great, holy, and true, we will probably not feel the need to examine our hearts. If we only see God through the lens of the external religious and social activities we experience, we are likely to find ourselves sufficiently good to get on with our lives.

Forgiveness Every Time
Have you ever experienced a spiritual victory that brought you to the mountaintop only to fall suddenly into the same pattern of sin? The feeling of failing God quickly grips our hearts when we don’t live up to the idealistic standards set by God’s word and (hopefully) the Christian community around us.

Majesty
When we see the glory of God, nothing else matters. When I stand before God at the end of my life, his holiness and beauty will be so astounding that I’ll be entirely overcome by wonder.

Longing For God
Don’t stop longing for God.

Show Me Your Ways
This is a prayer worth memorizing. It puts us in a posture of humility before God’s wisdom and keeps us open to God’s generosity— a posture vital to a life of abiding.

Through Jesus
We so often miss the kingdom because we are looking too hard. We are not much different from the disciples who were standing with God incarnate and looking around for the path to heaven.

The Earth Is The Lord’s
Again, I don’t claim to know how the spiritual realm works, but God is no foot soldier. He’s not a messenger or a special ops agent. He’s not a “ruler” or a “political leader” the way we would think of it—competing for the highest office.

The Reward of Humility
Choose humility because you’d be a fool not to. Choose humility because while God is great and holy, he designed the kingdom to be received by humble and hungry hearts.

A New Heart
We desperately need God to give us a new heart. It is no good to pile religious striving on top of a stony heart! Ultimately, we are no better off to pursue a lifetime of religious performance than to have forsaken it altogether. I recognize that is a bold statement, but it’s foundational to a life of abiding. Until we acknowledge that our striving is totally useless apart from a new heart, we won’t desire the gift of renewal that God gives.

None Besides You
The journey of knowing and loving God eventually comes to the place where you throw your hands in the air in amazement—God, you are enough!

A Question About Asking
Jesus’s message is a message of hope and promise, not a guarantee of endless jackpots. The invitation is for us to discover God’s goodness and faithfulness in the seeking. How will you live a life of asking today?

God Must Move
At this point, most of us would rightfully give up on the hope of ever entering the kingdom of God. If even the righteousness of the best pastors and theologians is insufficient for access to heaven, why should I even try?

Homesick For Heaven
Even so, the ache for Christ goes deeper. Deep enough that we could stand face to face with an enemy army and say, “I just want to worship in your house and look at your beauty.”

Taught By God
A life of abiding would not be worth pursuing unless God had made such radical promises like this one—further evidence that our lives are not meant to be conformed but rather transformed. God doesn’t desire a stagnant, limited life that “passes the test.” He desires an ongoing and renewing relationship of growth. He is an engaged Father and a master teacher, so his joy is in our progress toward freedom and glory.

Called By Name
I suppose if God were a silent God, we would be left to discern the will of God through these pathways of truth. If God were inactive, distant, and fickle, we might be better off affiliating with a Christian sect and avoiding the idea of knowing God personally altogether. Some have believed this and live according to that truth.

Freed For Freedom
God both frees us and enlists us in his army of freedom fighters. He didn’t free you so you could get off the hook. He freed you for an eternal purpose of freedom. Christ takes us out of the prison cell and hands us a job description that reads, “Live in my freedom.”

Nor…
So how do we respond? We don’t need to feel condemned for having difficulties in knowing and loving God. The whole point of Romans 8 is that we do not live under condemnation, yet we so easily live as if we do. In theory, we can be convinced that this promise is true for us and still be unsure of how this plays out in reality.

Worship Builds Faith
Sometimes the only path to worship is to command your soul to bless the Lord, even when you don’t feel like it. Sometimes you have to l go against the grain and call to your soul to worship and give thanks, even when the situation around you says the opposite.

Joy In The Unseen God
The story is far from over. Jesus is coming back, the wedding supper of the lamb awaits us, and the New Jerusalem will be our home. Still, until then, we are not called to merely make do with religious practices. God has poured out his Spirit on us so that we can be filled with power. He has offered us his very self so that when he appears, he will be no stranger but a friend, brother, and savior that we know and love.
Believing Is Receiving
Even when you fall down, call on God to help you. You might fall 1,000 times, but scripture already tells us in Psalms 34:19 NLT that The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.”
